How does local internet marketing help my business?

Local internet marketing is crucial for the small business owner in today’s digital world.  Every business needs to have an internet presence these days, from the smallest car wash to the biggest law firm in your city, each one needs its own space online.  If you own a business and don’t have a website, you don’t even know the business that you are simply refusing to take.  Not having a website is like not serving people in between 15 – 65 at your pizza parlor!

There are MANY FREE options to make a website for your business, if you are a creative type, you can simply make something to represent your business and post it on the internet.  Hopefully in a couple of years you will show up on the search engines for your business.

Now that being said, with the same free website, you hire someone to market your business online, in a local fashion and I can answer the question: How does local internet marketing help?

Local internet marketing helps by putting your business within the search parameters of the local customers around you.  Meaning that if you are an ice cream parlor in Scranton, New Jersey, you shouldn’t be looking to get on the first page of google when someone searches ICE CREAM, you should be there when they search what they would actually search for: ” Where is the best place to get ice cream in Scranton”.

Make sense? See so many people are stuck on the idea of “keywords” and “SEO” that they forget the most basic principle of marketing: You are dealing with HUMANS.  Yes, the search engine can be tricked and played with to display sites for pages, but who cares if the people aren’t searching for those specific set of words only.  Imagine this for me:  You are visiting scranton, new jersey in August.  If you have never been there, its HOT in August, and you fancy yourself an ice cream.  When you go to google, what would you actually type there?  Would you simple type: Ice cream? Or would you put descriptors and modifiers to better get your information? Of COURSE you put modifiers in. The point its, <a href=”http://elmstreetdesign.net” title =

So that way, when somone searches for what they actually would search for, your website is locally search engine optimized and now you are pulling in actual customers!

To summarize: How does local internet marketing help my business?

  • Brings local customers into your door
